If GM can mass produce the R2 for DoD and in the future for commercial applications the potential is tremendous.

This example is also included with CD/Sim and is named: CDEx Flexible Joint.vi

 

Let me know if that is along the lines of what you are looking for.  I believe it could be easily extended to a series elastic actuator for a humanoid robot/leg.  However, you may have to linearize your model at each timestep.
