In Range and Coerce for Waveform

I tried to use In Range And Coerce with a Waveform.

 

Unfortunatly this is not possible so I came up with the following alternative:

But what if you want it to act on the timestamp of the waveform? Or perhaps dt? How would "In Range and Coerce" know which you want?

All of the other numeric functions imply the Y.  Why would In Range and Coerce be any different?
