Hi I get a message
Unsupported version of National Instruments system component detected
A version of a National Instruments system component that is not supported on this operating system has been detected. You must cancel this installation and uninstall all unsupported National Instruments software before continuing. Visit ni.com/info and enter the Info Code CleanVista for more information.
When installing VISA. The "info artice" says install all NI software. We have about 30 pieces of NI software installed. Is there any way to narrow it down?
Thanks,
Chas

Hey Chas,
What OS are you running when you see this issue? Also, what exact version of the VISA driver are you trying to install?

HI Windows 7 Pro 32 bit. We did VISA 5.0.3 but the support guy said try 5.1.1 which gave the same results. The support fellow seemed unfamiliar with this problem. Here is a set of pictures for the installed NI software

Hey Chas,
One thing I noticed about your programs is that you have LabVIEW 8.0 installed. LabVIEW 8.0 is not officially supported in Windows 7. Is it possible for you to remove LabVIEW 8.0 from your computer? Also, I do not believe that Visa 5.1.1 is compatibile with LabVIEW 8.0. You can find these compatibility charts in Windows Version Compatibility with LabVIEW and Compatibility between LabVIEW and NI Drivers.

Thanks. We did remove Labview 8. It still does not work. I was wondering about the "clean up program". I understood it is to rid the registry of lingering items that cause the error message. But you can not run the "clean up program" until we have removed ALL NI software. Is there some way to know what to remove from the registry just to cleanse it of LabView 8 enough to get rid of the VISA install message?
Thanks,
Charles

Chas,
When you uninstalled 8.0, did you do it according to the How Do I Uninstall or Repair National Instruments Software page?

Yes just a standard Uninstall from the Control pannel. Just like in the article. Thanks,
Chas

Chas,
The document you attached showing the National Instruments Software on your computer, was this taken before or after uninstalling LabVIEW 8.0? If it was after, then what happens if you try to do an uninstall of LabVIEW 8.0 again?

Hi,
It was before uninistalling LabVIEW 8. My college finally gave up and uninstalled everything. Things seem to work for him now.
Thanks for the help,
Charles

If you have an info code (e.g. "CleanVista"), you enter it here.
When I do that, and click "Submit", the website takes me here. Looks like there are directions to uninstall all NI hardware and then there's a tool that you're supposed to download and run after doing that.
