does any one konw where i can find a Serial Poll vi. so i can count the reset event. from what i read serial poll will let me set up bit 5 the standard event and 6 SRQ but i need to know when the reset happen which is on bit 3. how can i change it.

The GPIB Serial Poll vi is in the Functions >> Instrument I/O >> 488 palette. This function will serial poll the device and return the status byte generated by the instrument.
