Sorry, I did not understand the gist of the first question.
I am running the interface on my laptop, which is a Gateway with a PIII under Windows XP SP2. I will also want to run it on my other laptop which runs Windows 2000.

So you are not trying to use the GPIB-USB-HS on a real time target? I'm not quite sure how LV RT 5.1 comes into play. Can you give more information about your system setup and what you are trying to do?
Do you have a PXI chassis?
Thanks

Thanks for the clarification. Since you're not doing anything RT-related, you're just using "LabVIEW 5.1". In order to get your GPIB-USB-HS recognized on your Windows 2000/XP PC, you need the NI-488.2 driver v2.3 that came with your device on a CD. You can also download the driver here

Thanks for the reply.
I thought I was using the driver that shipped with the USB-GPIB-HS. I installed that hardware first then installed LabView. Would Labview have written over the driver for the HS even though those files would be newer than the files Labview is installing? If I re-install the hardware now, will everything work OK, or will I need to do something else?
