ASCII command for actual position

For the ASCII experienced: I need to track the actual distance moved by a device during a LabVIEW program. I have no idea how to get this information from the device outside of LabVIEW let alone use it in a program. The device is a Stepnet Panel Amplifier and can be moved with ascii codes, the most I know is it will be some type of "get" command but I don't know where to find a useful list of commands, and have resorted to testing random ones. Any advice would be great, thanks in advance. Rach

You are going to have to get the list of commands from the vendor. Guessing the commands could take an infinite amount of time. Do you have the manual?

I have a couple manuals, but the two examples of finding position only return the value zero. I didn't realize the differences in types of ascii codes, but i have a back up plan for calculating the movement. Thanks though 🙂
