Are there any plans for 64bit Linux driver support?

Hello,

Unfortunately, National Instruments currently doesn't have plans to support 64-bit Linux platforms (See this link). You can find more information about Linux support at ni.com/linux. Hope this helps. Thanks!

dear national instruments product management,

adding:

a) support for 64-bit kernels

and

b) a "kit" version of your driver that is designed to be adapted to distributions that you do not support.

...to ni-daqmx would be a really nice thing that you could do for your customers.  please think about it!

thanks!

ps.  those who would find these two things useful, please add a reply to this thread so that it might happen some day.  thanks!

...or better yet drop NI and go with a competitor that will support 64bit. Thank you INES. Forward thinking? Wake up NI.

You get the source for NI-KAL, this is essentially a "kit" that allows you to port to whatever distribution you want (32-bit, of course). NI has a few standard distributions that we test with, but that doesn't in any way prevent you from your heart's desire (except 64-bit, of course).

The thread is about 64bit Linux support, so I'm not sure what your point is.

I was responding to:

b) a "kit" version of your driver that is designed to be adapted to distributions that you do not support.

I probably should have quoted that in my original reply. Yes, this thread is about 64-bit support, but I felt the need to respond to the non-64-bit section to clarify the support.
