FRC License Activation - Unable to activate LabView 2021

We are unable to activate LabView 2021 with our serial # provided from FIRST. We are only able to activate up to version 2019. We have contacted FIRST and the issue is with NI according to them.

Quick note: I've asked one of our moderators to edit your post to remove the second screenshot (don't want your SN getting blocked if a wide number of folks start to use it).

I've got a question that'll help me understand what you're running into and then I'll share steps to get around what you're seeing.  The question:  Is there a reason you're using the web site for activation rather than using the dialog that pops up when you open LabVIEW?  Alternatively, you can open NI License Manager and activate products from there.

You're running into issues with how things are named that isn't entirely intuitive.  The package you're looking at no longer exists and I wouldn't expect to see you able to activate that.  If you want to activate, you'll want to get an activation code for the following items:

LabVIEW Professional 2020 SP1

LabVIEW Real-Time Module 2020

Vision Acquisition Drivers 21.5

Vision Development Module 21.5

I'd expect these to all be pre-populated in the NI License Manager option if you use that instead of the manual web site option.

NI License Manager says there is no license associated with the account. Are you saying we should be using LabView 2020?

On NI.com under Profile > Products, it shows For FIRST Only - FIRST Robotics Competition Software, 1 Year Term. When I click Activation Software it takes me to the Web Activation Form which only lets me do up to 2019.

I recommend changing "Check my account for licenses" to "Enter serial numbers" in that dropdown that you see in the license manager. This will let you write your FRC serial number (9 character alphanumeric code) in all software packages. Then click "Activate" in the top right next to the dropdown you just changed to associate the license code with those software components.

Cheers,

Looking at that list, it makes me believe you've downloaded things separate from the FRC downloads.

If you're seeing 2021 in that dropdown, it means you have LabVIEW 2021 installed and that won't come in the LabVIEW Software for FRC 2022 download.  (Short version, we didn't have time to test that with the roboRIO 2.0 so we built the software on top of LabVIEW 2020 SP1 instead)

It sounds like you've installed a decent number of things and it's possible there are some versions that will conflict with what's in the software stack we use for FRC.  Let's start with uninstalling the things you have so we can get to a cleaner state.  From there, you'll want to install from these two links:

https://www.ni.com/en-us/support/downloads/software-products/download.labview-software-for-frc.html

https://www.ni.com/en-us/support/downloads/drivers/download.frc-game-tools.html

You'll want to choose 2022 for each.  Install the first link first.  Then, install from the second link.  That should pull in the correct products to compete in the 2022 FRC season.  It looks like the step by step on https://docs.wpilib.org/en/stable/docs/zero-to-robot/step-2/labview-setup.html are still for the previous season.  Ignore the years listed in those screenshots but this will provide a step by step instruction.

If you want us to verify the software you have on your system, you can take a screenshot of the NI License Manager.  Though, trying to activate 2021 raises a red flag for me.

I notice you're also having issues imaging a roboRIO in another thread so making sure we have the right software is likely the first step we want to take to resolve both issues.
