Can LV 6.1 FP application co-exist on the same machine that has LV8?

I just checked a VI that was developed in LV 6.1 on my machine yesterday AM.

I installed LV 8 yesterday afternoon.

This morning I found that the VI's in

...\LabVIEW 6.1\VI.lib\FieldPoint

are gone!

VI's like FP Open, read, etc.

Can LV 6.1 FP app's and LV 8 live on the same machine?

When you install LabVIEW 8 and the device drivers (that include FieldPoint 5), the support for FieldPoint in LabVIEW 6 is removed.  You can only have one version of the FieldPoint driver installed at a time, and no FieldPoint driver will install support for LabVIEW 6, 7 and 8.  If you install FieldPoint 5 you will have support for LabVIEW 7.0, 7.1 and 8.  If you install FieldPoint 4.1 you get support for LabVIEW 6.1 and 7.0, 7.1.  Although there is a way to get some functionality of FieldPoint 4.1 in LabVIEW 8 by copying files into your LabVIEW 8 directory it is not supported and discouraged since it has limited functionality (you will not be able to target your device).

If you need FieldPoint support in LabVIEW 6.1, you can uninstall FieldPoint 5.0 and reinstall version 4.1.

This appears to be consistant with what I have found.

I will need a new machine to allow me to install LV 8.
