Just wondering what people think of having the version of LabVIEW that people are using posted under their user name or avatar. I personally put in my signature so that people know what version to upload if they want me to open up a file. Some people put it in their posts when they are asking for help, but by no means is that the majority. I have seen something similar on other forums. For instance on a car forum people might have their car model underneath their avatar.
I am not stuck on the placement of this info, wherever is most logical would be good. Also, it might be reasonable to only show this information on the LabVIEW board. Perhaps it could be a field that people enter when signing up for an account, or for all of us already on here it could be a field that we enter the next time we start a new thread. These are just some ideas, however it is implemented I think it would be a nice feature!

Wow with location too, interesting! (How many ways do you take your Cincinatti Cincinnati chili?)
I like that format, I wonder what it would take for these forums to adopt something similar, and if there is a consensus that it would be useful.
Edit: spelling 😞

1. Learn to spell it: Cincinnati
2. Well, you have your coney, 3-way, 4-way, and 5-way. Just go to a Skyline and they will treat you right!
I know it is called Cincinnati Chili, but it actually originated in Greece (immigrant came over and started the business).
Ok, now get back on topic!

Interesting idea for a field in the user info. I would be concerned that as a user updates their environment, their older posts/documents would be confusing if the version wasn't mentioned directly. In the LabVIEW board, we do guide users to provide some helpful information for troubleshooting. It may be a possibility to provide fields or a template for this information to be entered along with the body of the post.
I'd love to hear some more thoughts from others on this idea!
P.S. I love Cincinnati chili! I haven't found any in Austin yet.

That is why most of us push for Snippets, which show the version in the image. Even then, you can open the posted VI and if you have anything newer, it will open. So I do not see this as an issue.
