Seems that it would be unfair to start a competition with a so big difference. Unless we find some way of compensation. May be our answers could be restricted to even days ? Or we should not take into account Dennis and Ben's contributions ? 😄 😄

Hi CC,

You are right that this would not be fair to count history.

Even if we did start over it would not be fair and PLEASE LET ME EXPLAIN why I say that.

The gold team has the advantage of being users of LV.

Most of the Q's posted on the Exchange are posted by USERS on how to USE LV. We have a better chance of giving the Q'ers an answer they would like because we can give answers we would like to get ourselves.

So it would not be fair for that alone.

But there are other factors as well. The blue team HAS to give correct answers because they are blue. The gold team CAN answer. An answer is required by the blue team. The gold team can stand back at let the blue team wander into the messy stuff.

That is not to say that the gold team only handles the easy Q!

Far from it.

I am just saying that by answering a gold team member is doing something tht is not expected of them by answering and it is desirable that they are correct.

The answers given by the two teams are judged by different standards so the numbers for the two groups are apples and oranges. They can not be compared.

BUT, this is what I think the numbers do say.

When we hear that NI's web-site wins awards blah, blah, blah, we contributors to the Exchange can say that a good part of what is good about NI's sit eis the contributors to the exchange.

We have made differnce and a notable one at that.

I think NI should give us a virtual coffee shop as a reward don't you think? Somewhere can still all gather and not be concerned about artificially inflating our numbers. If we could easily reference the the Coffe Shop from the Exchange Q's we could side bar conversations out of the thread. I know there have been many times when I have entered discussions that do not concern the Q but are inspired by the thread or warrent discussion. As it stands now we really do not have a good mechanism for that.
