Announcing the NI Discussion Forums Upgrade

I happened to be using my lab computer today which has not been connected to the Internet since February. Just for fun I pulled up some cached forum pages. I kind of miss the old look. I have adjusted and mostly forgot what it used to look like, but it was not so bad. I see old VIs with the "classic" look and cringe, not here. Just saying.... (I need to brush up on my CSS/HTML and recreate the old style. )

I have been told that a few of the issues with the editor in Google Chrome have been resolved but I have not tested it. 

Also, the issue with images in Internet Explorer being inserted only at the beginning of a post has been resolved.

Has this been brougt up before? You can't create multi-level lists (either bulleted or numbered). Not even if you switch to HTML mode. If you try to create the multi-level list in HTML mode once you switch back to Rich Text it screws it up.

Another fix: the page numbers in the unread discussions module on the Idea Exchange now work as expected.  I thought there was a separate thread for this, but I haven't found it yet.

another bug?

When trying to open the last page of a discussion I receive an "empty" page with no messages displayed.

As of now this happens with this thread: I can choose wether to open the 1st or the 2nd page of messages, but the 2nd page shows no messages.

The same here with this thread: when trying to open the last page (by clicking ») I get this:

To get to the last page of this thread I have to select page 10, load the page, then go to page 17...

Laura - this is from your very first announcement on this thread. If I'm not mistaken, it looks like you rolled out an update last night and this issue is now fixed. Can you confirm this bug was fixed (and possibly point out more bugfixes or features)?

The stretched avatars still looks to be a problem in IE8 to me. 

I've been giving updates of fixes as I learn about them. Sometimes updates happen that give us small improvements but are not necessarily fixing bugs that I know about and I'm not notified of those small updates unless it's a fix we're waiting on.

I'm going to check on the stretched avatars issue.

A few recent fixes:

Your own tag cloud should now be sorted alphabetically

More characters are displayed per tag so you shouldn't see much truncation.
