Try looking at the "Joystick Button Latching Example.lvpro" shipped with your copy of FRC LabVIEW update.
On the "Getting Started" screen at the lower right coner there is the "Find FRC Examples" Click on it!
Under "FRC Robotics/JoyStick"
Spend some time looking at the other examples there also.
