Hello everyone! I've already used MySQL with windows XP, but my new computer has windows seven, and I can't find the way to do it.
I'm attaching the steps I usually follow in administrative tools, but the options I once used are no longer available.
I'm using an access file as a database (DSN=DISTO1)
Can any one send me the steps to do it?
Thanks so much!
Cheers!

Duplicated Forum
Hi WM09,
I am wondering if your Windows 7 is a 64 bits OS??
I have tried to make LabVIEW work with Data Bases and I had no success, I had to install a virtual machine to install Windows XP 32 Bits.
The thing is that when you try to make the connection file, for some reason Windows did not make the connection file right.

Elias, thanks for your reply.
Yes, my windows 7 is 64 bits.
When I open the ODBC data Data resource administrator , when i want to add a new system DSN>add, or, in user DSN>MS access Data base>add, The only option is:
SQL server (Version 6.01.7601.17514) >finish,( this opens a wizzard):
Name
Description
Sever: (i can not select anything here, so i can't folow to the next step.
Am i doing anything wrong here?, or is it just like you've said, that the only way is using windows xp 32 bits?
Thank's again,

That is exactly what happend to me, it is impossible to create the DSN it is impossible to create the one that I nedded.
I tried everythng I found on the web to make it work and at the and I give up and Installed a virtual machine.

Hey,
Look what I have found, It might helps!
This error is thrown because the 64-bit version of odbcad32.exe, the ODBC Data Source Administrator program, was used to configure the Data Source Name (DSN) to the database when the 32-bit version of the ODBC Data Source Administrator Program should have been used. The 32-bit LabVIEW application is trying to use the DSN created by the 64-bit to connect to the database and this is not possible.
To correct the error you should run the 32 bit ODBC Data Source Administrator program as an Administrator to gain access to all the ODBC drivers that come with Ms Office and Access. To do so, go to C:\windows\sysWOW64 and run the executable called odbcad32.exe

Elias, how are you? I've tried what you've send me this week end.
Using the obdcad32>System DSN>Add>Microsoft Access driver (*.mdb)> then I've selected the location and name.
The I've tried a very simple insert into table and an error is showed:
code:-2147467259
Source: Exception occurred in Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between the Driver and Application in ADO Connection Open.vi->Example - Insert into a Table.vi
does this error has to do with the obdcad??
Thanks once again!

Hi !
Take a look at this link:
http://www.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/5.1.html
There are different versions of ODBC connectors for 32 and 64 bit
Hope it helps you!
