Report Table - Column Separator in body but not in header

I'm trying to make a table in a report where the header spans the entire width of the table as a "single cell" or without any column separators but the body of the table would have column separators. I haven't been able to find a way to do this, either both the header and body have separators or not. Is it possible to format these separately in the way I mentioned?

Maybe try creating a frame and a text box inside it, then highlight them together with the table and use the grouping option to keep them together.  example TDR attached.

Ok, that works but holy cow that is a lot of work to do a simple formatting task. Thanks for the suggestion.
