Python Tutorial

So, with LabVIEW 2018 release and the introduction of the Python Node, I found myself wanting to learn Python.  It has been on my "list" for a few years now and this gave me the kick I needed to finally do it.

Anyway, after looking through several introductions and tutorials, etc I ran across a 2-day lecture from Google.  It has video lectures + exercises, etc.  It is hands down the best introduction to Python that I found.  Thought I'd share.

Thanks! I went through some of the "Learn Python the Hard Way" tutorials. Some of the exercises are fun, like making an old style text adventure game.

Codecademy do a fairly decent (and free) python course. https://www.codecademy.com/learn/learn-python

FreeCodeCamp do one too but I have never looked at it.

I looked at the codecademy one... half of the class behind a paywall (not to mention the requirement that I create an account on their site) bothered me, so I bailed on it.

Apologies, it was free when I did it. (Some time ago I must admit). It seems their business model must have changed in the mean time.

Hi All,

Here's a site to consider.  www.edx.org

You'll find free courses for Python (and much more) from credible sources like Microsoft and MIT.  I recently audited the Python course linked below.  It was straightforward to begin and you can self-pace at your desired speed.

Let's all get smarter!
