The bear has been like that since early 2005, it was originally made by tst.

I believe I started the twinkly left eye to make my icon slightly unique. Others adapted the idea.

Feel free to add a twinkle to your icon. 😉

Well, my comment was just for some fun, with a high probability of being proven wrong, but with an intention to know the truth.

IMO, Ben's Teddy defies his actual age; if you had seen his original (face) photo in the LabVIEW Champions profile page.

The Twinkling Teddy makes me think of him as young as a boy of 1-digit age.
