Isn't LabVIEW great?

I miss Icons.

I miss Dataflow.

I miss Graphical programming.

I miss free time.......

I'm working on a c# project on a mobile device with an SQL database and Barcode scanner.

My first ever c# project.  My first ever mobile device project.  My first ever database project (I just learned SQL).  Well, the scanner is kind of like any old Instrument.  I feel kinda at home there.

Just wanted to get that off my chest late on a Sunday evening.  Yes, I'm working all hours of all days to get finished.

Help....

Shane.

My heart is with you (although at least your project sounds interesting. I like working with mobile devices).

Yeah, it's a cool project.

that's why I took it on despite zero experience in C#, Windows Mobile, SQL and so on and so forth.

I KNEW there was a learning curve (As did my customer) but phew, it's tough going.  I really start to realise how efficient the graphical programming style is.

Keeping an overview of 10,000 Lines of C# code is pretty hairy.......

I'd hate to be working on a "Large" project..

As a C# programmer myself in addition to a LabVIEW programmer (duh!) I can say that I feel comfortable in either language. That may have something to do with the fact that I was pretty much exposed to text-based programming and LabVIEW fairly equally over time. I've developed a fairly large program using SQL Server and I don't think keeping track of it is any more or less difficult than keeping track of a large LabVIEW app. When it comes down to it, it's not the language that really matters. The design and implementation can be a friend as well as an unforgiving "comrade". Smiley Wink

That's true enough, but considering I have over 15 years experience in LabVIEW and about 4 weeks experience in C#, iut's not hard to pin down where more architectural problems are going to occur.

I don't deny that my inability to oversee my own code is entirely my own fault.  I'm just not used to that feeling any more.

OTOH, I find C# to be quite a neat programming language.  I think I'll be doing more in that direction in the future.

Alongside LabVIEW of course....

No arguements... Yep LV is great.

Doing CVI / TestStand blend at the moment..  I keep thinking... "yeah.. I could do this in LV and its so much easier to do..."

Basically, my TestStand is a bit rusty,,  And so it programming VxWorks on Unix platform..  😄

Nevertheless, good design upfront is the best approach.  In ANY language. 🙂

THAT was a great movie.  Got the complete set on DVD.

The Matrix is up there, too!

Red book?  Did I miss that one? 😮
