You should be happy to have been in Jerusalem. Not only is it relatively dry, but it's also higher and cooler than most of the country. Had you been in the coastal region (e.g. Tel Aviv), you might have needed that raincoat to keep the humidity in the air away from you 😉 .
P.S. I wasn't here last Saturday, but I was told the temperature here exceeded 50C (122F). In San Francisco (which is where I was) had around 15-20C at the time, which was very refreshing.
Is that how hot it was?
Yep, it felt like Pittsburgh in the summer. But the next day the humidity cleared and it was warm but comfortable. Something I had never seen before... Water meters are located outside the buildings. In Pittsburgh they can freeze even in a basement.

I guess there are reasons to explore the rest of the world. See what others do. I guess it must be very interesting to see the different cultures and places along the way ...... and have a little fun too as it would seem.![]()

Not where you were. Sorry, you can't brag about that.
Incidentally, the temperature in clear winter nights can drop to about -7C (~20F), so the water pipes in the fields here do sometimes burst.

Before pocket calculators where invented that did base conversions, base conversion are something we had to do many times a day in order to get our jobs done.
(eg a Jump Relative let us add or subtract from the current value of the program conter (holds address of the instruction to execute) in order to control program flow. We could count the number of lines from where we where and the number had to be entered as binary (Octal or Hex) so converting was just part of the job.
THe main reason I post this fact is so I can brag about a guy I used to work with named Gary Blendiger who could do the base conversions faster than anyone esle I knew but could as multiply and divide in binary, octal and hex. He was very handy to have around while chasing crash dumps and we had to concider the stride of the array.

I hear that train a coming,
It's rolling round the bend,
If you slow down answering questions,
Your time at the top will end...
Stay tuned this will make more sense soon.

I tried to google it around the poems...
But later understood only Ben can tell the meaning...

Folsom Prison Blue by Johnny Cash.
There is a re-allignment of the stars coming, maybe before the end of the year. I have had the unique oppertunity of being of being over-taken by both Dennis and Christian (twice! Try to match that
). I am looking forward to it happening again.
...and what a powerful freight train he is.
