Aesthetics

Has anyone ever written a nugget on 'Front Panel Aesthetics' or something to the effect?
I know how to make custom controls/indicators and how to change the background, but I know there are better tricks out there. Anyone want to share cool tricks they know?

Warning:

Any application that has an "Aesthetics Comittee"  should automatically double the estimated time to develop (Been there, done that!).

It took me almost three days of e-mails to get a color right!
