Author ratings (the three little boxes)

Where is the explanation for the ratings everyone has? Proven, trusted, veteran, etc... how are they ranked and by what criteria? I think there would be a list of them all with an explanation but I haven't been able to find it. Ratings without explanation = no good... so I'm a grand master and you're a super master and Dennis K is a super grand master... so what does that mean? I think a more easily available explanation would improve on the average user's understanding of the system.

You're right that FAQ doesn't appear to address this, while it should.
To summarize the current numbers:
First box: Ratings.
<4 - none, 4-4.5 - trusted, 4.5-5 - proven.
Second box: # of posts.
<195 - none, 195-2000(?) - active, >2000 - enthusiastic.
Third box: Logins.
250 - veteran.
Since the forum system was changed a few months back, you can see users with ranks like Proven Active Member. This is because they have no logins yet in the new system.

Alright well that info will suffice. I didn't care to read the first post it was so incredibly long. It would have been nice just to have the info you noted in the FAQ, possibly with a few little yellow tri-box icons as examples.

I have been pushing for this for a while.

The link that tst pointed you at was Chilly Charlie's attempt to fill the need until Molly get a change in place to do this as you suggested.

Since someone has called my attention to this issue, I see a forgot a couple of things, so:
Active - probably 200 posts total (I probably had 195 replies and 5 threads at the time).
Logins: Member -
