Did you mean:

Did the message editor get changed or did I accidently change my web-browser settings?

Wow, John, that is great. 5 stars to you.

For those who missed it, if you write the local path to image file, the image gets incorporated into the message! You can probably do that with multiple images as well.

Molly, is there any way to place a browse button to the local hard drive, instead of saying "You must be hosting the picture and supply a URL"?

It also seems that the 2 wrongs correct each other - because I have to wait until the page fully loads before I can type, it's a good thing that it pops to the front when ready.Smiley Wink

Whoa, whoa, whoa.

STOP!

After examining the HTML code generated, and playing around, I found out that writing a local URL causes the image to appear only when browsing from your computer, and only as long as it's where you left it. Basically, the browser just uses the address you gave it as a URL. So, no 5 stars, John, sorry, we still have to upload images.

OK, this really sucks:
When attaching a hyperlink there is no option for inserting a display text.
If I try to use the macro I have, which places the HTML code directly in the post, nothing appears in the edit field,
and if I try to type the HTML code directly into the post, it is not interpreted as HTML, so the link doesn't work.

That stumped me too.

What you need to do is first type the link text in the message, then go back and highlight it, then hit the link button and paste in your URL. The highlighted text will then be the link.

Thanks, Ed.

That's good to know, but it's still a terrible workaround. There should be a field for text when adding the URL.

It seems that when I post a macro that has a lot of text the links turn out fine (maybe because the address is already in the HTML code when I insert it), but when I inserted one with the empty <a href=""></a> nothing appeared. I guess that's because the editor "compiles" the HTML immediately. I'm assuming that's what's needed to show stylized text in the editor.

OK.  My bad.  I didn't even think about the fact that it wouldn't work once I went from the local machine.  Now that I think of it, it makes sense that since it's HTML the image is just referenced.  I guess I'll just have to EARN the five stars elswhere.Smiley Very Happy

LV_Pro -

I saw a similar problem with a new question being posted repeatedly this morning.  Thanks for letting me know.  I have reported it and hope to have quick resolution.

Thanks!

A couple of additional comments:

OK, now it seems that sometimes the buttons do load from the cache and that the page is displayed fully without wait. The only problem is that when this happens, I can't write. I have to click refresh and wait for the graphics to reload before I get the cursor.

When this happens, or if I wait for the cursor to appear, clicking Quote Post causes the quoted post to appear immediately at the top of the page (look at the attachment). Clicking multiple times causes the quote to appear multiple times.

I do have one correction to make - it seems I don't have to refresh the page, because if I wait an additional 5-10 seconds the cursor appears.
