Thanks for the suggestion and sorry for not responding in time. I had tried all that I could do in between, including putting back the files where they were. Max hangs whenever I try to access myRIO through it. Max identifies the device and hangs soon. After an unsucessfull attempt to format myRIO, I am unable to access it even via putty.

Hi All

I was finally able to establish a connection with the system via MAX, flashed the latest firmware and formatted the disk to start from scratch again. All is well now.

I have still not installed any third party usb modules. What I meant was that I have got it working the way it used to be, and that is self explanatory, once you open MAX and identify your myRIO.
