NI 9223 Module: 4-Channel, 1 MS/s, 16-Bit Simultaneous Analog Input Module
Abstract:
The UW-Madison Formula SAE team developed a system to collect engine in-cylinder pressure data time-based and post-process it to crank angle resolved pressure traces that can be more accurate than conventional methods. By using National Instruments 9223 module and a student designed post-processor we were able to collect crank angle resolved data without the use of an external encoder. This setup can be adapted to any engine and produce extremely accurate results. Future work will allow live monitoring of signals and calculated values like IMEP.
