Title: The solar panel automatic tracking system based on LabVIEW

The project introduces one kind of automatic tracking system of sun which effectively combined the sun angle tracking and photoelectric tracking. The tracking system can track the sun real time all weather in the day, and raised the utilization efficiency of solar energy.

The Challenge:
1 Uses LabVIEW to realized all-round tracking of the sun from the horizontal and vertical direction which can overcome the shortcomings of traditional low solar utilization.
2 Tracking fully automated. This project can judge the weather is cloudy or sunny to pick the tracking mode automatically. If it’s cloudy, the main tracking mode is photoelectric tracking, or the main tracking mode is the sun angle tracking .
3 This project has manual adjustment system and automatic return system at night .When the project due to external factors produces mistake, you can use the manual adjustment system to recover the project in a short time .
4 This project also has the motor protection modules. It can prevent motor damage when the Motor shift to the limit.
The Solution:
<how does your project work>
First of all, when we press down the start button, the whole system begin to initialize which can make the solar panel almost over against the sun. The next is waiting for twenty minutes ,then the system execute the sun angle tracking so the solar panel can track the current sun position from the initial position .finally, the solar panel can over against the sun accurately through the photoelectric tracking .
<explain the benefits using LabVIEW and NI tools>
1 Using LabVIEW we can conveniently build our own virtual instrument in that the LabVIEW is a Powerful and flexible software.
2 LabVIEW describe the programing behavior through the graphic symbol ,so it can eliminate disturbing grammar rules ,reduce the programmable burden and improve efficiency.
3 The price of the software is low. Because the LabVIEW based on software architecture,it greatly reduces the development and maintenance costs.
4 Due to the key of the virtual instrument lies in software, hardware limitations is smaller which is easier to connect with other instrument set .
5 we use the NI company product PCI-6251 In our project. This product can seamlessly combine with the measuring driver service software such as LABVIEW and NI-DAQmx and offer higher performance, higher value and the more I / 0.
As above mentioned, we simplify the project development process, make debugging simple and shortened instrument development cycle by using LabVIEW and NI tools.
