Introduction
In this tutorial, you will learn about the principles of blood flow and heart rate, as well as the way electronics theory can be applied to determine heart rate, by utilising NI myDAQ and simple components. It has been designed for Medical/Biomedical Engineering students in order to introduce solutions to theoretical biological and electronic problems.
Hardware
This project and tutorial utilises the NI myDAQ, myProtoboard by Elenco and simple components, as follows:
- Red LED
- Light Dependent Resistor
- 22 k Ohm Resistor
- 180 Ohm Resistor
- Connecting Wires
- NI myDAQ
- myProtoboard by Elenco
Using the Tutorial
To use this tutorial, simply select the tab that you would like to look at. When you wish to demonstrate the Simulated signals, simply hit the run button when on the appropriate tab. Likewise, to demonstrate the actual data acquisition, simply hit the run button and press the 'Acquire Data' button. Press the stop button to end acquisition or simulation.
LabVIEW Code
To run the code, you'll require the following:
- LabVIEW 2012 or higher
- DAQmx Drivers
