Introduction:
myDCMotorControl is a tutorial that's been developed to help guide students through an introduction to control engineering. Control engineering can be a complex subject, but as it's used in a wide variety of engineering systems, it's a useful skill to know.
The tutorial takes the student through some basic control theory, before giving them the opportunity to experiment and vary parameters to view the effect on the system.
Hardware:
This tutorial uses the myDAQ hardware with an Elenco Protoboard attached.
To build the myDCMotor circuit for this lab, you will need
- 2x NPN transistors
- 2x PNP transistors
- 4x resistors
- 1x DC motor
- Jumper wires
- 1x NI myDAQ
- 1x Elenco Protoboard attachement.
Using the tutorial:
Use the tabs at the top to navigate through the different pages of the tutorial. When you're ready to end, press the "Stop and Exit" button.
LabVIEW coding:
To run this tutorial, you will need:
- LabVIEW 2011 or above
- Control Design and Simulation Module 2011 or above
- PID and Fuzzy Logic 2011 or above
