Hello All,
I'm using the NI-XNET Bus Monitor to log CAN communication. During testing, I’ve observed a critical issue: all transmitted messages on the CAN bus stop unexpectedly, while received messages continue to appear active. The bus also seems to remain unloaded during these events.
In some cases, this behavior occurs even when no active testing is being performed, which makes it difficult to pinpoint the cause.
My main concern is understanding why the bus stops transmitting messages. Could this be related to the configuration or behavior of the NI-XNET Bus Monitor?
Additionally, I’d like to confirm the following regarding Listen-Only Mode:
Any guidance or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Yes, as the term suggests, a listen-only mode does not transmit CAN messages.
Use subordinate mode to monitor all outgoing and incoming messages.

You cannot disable the Listen Only option. It is already not selected by default. Simple don't enable it.

Hi,
In NI-XNET Bus Monitor 2017, the "Listen Only" mode is enabled by default on one of the four CAN buses in my setup. I’m unable to disable this mode or configure it to be disabled by default. Interestingly, the other three CAN buses do not have this issue — "Listen Only" is disabled on them by default.
