Using the PXI as a remote system.

Hi,

I have received PXIe-1088 and PXIe-8842, along with various additional modules.

I have been able to set up the PXIe-8842 as its own Windows profile. My question is how do I link this chassis setup with the labview projects on my laptop? I have set up remote access. However is there a way for this to be visible within my laptop MAX, as a remote system? Therefore I can use my LabVIEW applications on it.

Or do I need to set up a 'Real Time Trace Viewer'? If so how does this work - are there tutorials for this?

I am new to LabVIEW, so hopefully what I'm trying to achieve makes sense.

Thanks,

Catherine

Why not remote directly (RDP, VNC, TeamViewer, AnyDesk etc.,) into the 8842 and run your LabVIEW application there?

You're asking for gRPC device server and client described in this article,

Only controllers installed with Real Time Operating System (Pharlap ETS or Linux RT) can be detected as a remote system under NI MAX.

The controller installed with Windows has no difference from any other Windows desktop or laptop.
