Need to control PXI modules (with 8108 Embedded Controller) from PC through LAN

Hi all,

I am working on a NI PXI system with,

NI PXI 1078 Chassis,

NI PXI 8108 Embedded controller with Window 7,

NI PXI 6552 (HSDIO), NI PXIe 6363 DAQ, NI PXI 4130 SMU.

I am developing instrument control modules in LabVIEW 2011 in a computer with Windows XP. I would like to run those instrument control codes on my PXI system. 

How would I identify and control the Instruments available in my PXI from my development computer?

I tried using ethernet cable between PXI controller and developement PC. I was able to bring them into a same network but I couldn't identify the Instruments using MAX. 
Kindly help on this.
