Need help installing drivers for PXI system (PXI-8331, PCI-8331/8336, PXI-5124, PXI-2530 on PXI-1036 chassis)

Hello everyone,

I’m trying to set up an older PXI system and I’m having trouble finding and installing the correct drivers for Windows (I can use Windows 10, 11, or even XP if necessary).

My system consists of:

• PXI-1036 chassis

• PXI-8331 controller

• PCI-8331 / PCI-8336 interface cards

• PXI-5124 oscilloscope module

• PXI-2530 switch module

I would like to know:

1. Which drivers or software packages are required for this configuration?

2. Which versions are compatible with these modules and with modern versions of Windows (10/11)?

3. If support for these modules is discontinued, is there an archived version or legacy driver available?

Any guidance or download links would be greatly appreciated.

Hello!

You just need NI Scope for the PXI-5124, and NI Switch for the PXI-2530. The newest version will work with both Windows 10 and Windows 11, and version 15 should work with Windows XP.  You don't need any drivers the the PXI-1036 or the 8331's.

If you need help finding a specific driver, we have an NI Driver Downloads tool where you can freely download the exact NI Driver / version you need, even if your hardware model is Obsolete.
