Obviously, the issue is not simple to reproduce. A couple of questions:

1. What OS are you using?

2. Where do you define the new step type (SequenceFile, Type ini file)?

3. Do you create a new type from scratch or do you copy an existing one for modification?

3.a) If the latter one: Which is the original step type? Does TS crash in that type also?

4. Does it happen always/with any step type or only with a specific one?

4.a) If it happens only with a/some specific step type/s: What makes this/these unique?

5. Did you already perform a repair install or at least rerun the TS version selector?

6. Which user rights are you running in Windows/TS?

7. Do you have NI Switch and/or NI SwitchExecutive installed? If yes: Do they/Does it work properly?

I assume that you have neither NI Switch nor NI Switch Executive (NISE) installed (you state only NI Switch). Default Switching uses NI Switch Executive.

I have to admit that TS shouldn't crash if NISE is NOT installed when clicking on that tab. However, you can double check by installing NISE.
