Cascading GPIB BUS Extenders

We have a system that has NI GPIB 110-1 Bus Extenders in it. Can I add NI GPIB 140-A Bus Extenders additionally to that GPIB Bus. In other words, the GPIB initiates at a Series/1 computer and goes into a 110-1 BUS extender, it then comes out the other 110-1 extender and connects to some RF equipment. Can I put another BUS extender (a 140-a) between the outputing 110-1 and one piece of RF equipment. The resulting BUS would initiate at the Series/1, go into a 110-1 extender, come out the other 110-1 extender and plug into some RF equipment as well as a 140-a extender, the other 140-a would plug into the last piece of RF equipment. Is that OK, is there a reason not to cascade GPIB Bus Extenders?
Thanks

Bill,

I'm not sure if you can or not. I do, however, have a suggestion (especially if the extenders do not work). Use a LAN-GPIB converter. I've used them to control instruments very far from the controller and in fact you can use them through the internet.

Hope this helps.

Bill,

You posted this question in the TestStand Discussion Forum. I would recommend to post it again at the Instrument Connectivity or GPIB Discussion Forums. You'll definitely have more chances to get answers to your question.
Here's a link to the "Discussion Forums":

From there, click either on "Instrument Connectivity" or "GPIB" (which is under "Instrument Connectivity").
