running multiple versions of Multisim/Ultiboard

I just installed Multisim/Ultiboard v13 in a virtual machine with 7x64. After the install was finished I noticed that Multisim/Ultiboard v12, which was already installed, was not deleted. In fact, v13 seems to run next to v12 without problems.

Is there a reason why v12 was not deleted by the installer of v13?

Many users prefer to have an old version running with the new version; this is to ensure there are no problems with upgrading old design in a new version. V12 and V13 are independent of each other.
