When I click on "new message" it takes me to the "search" engine.

I believe this link is corrupt.

I want to start a new thread but it will not let me. Could you verify this

I think they're trying to get people to search, at least briefly, for their answer, first, before asking the same question again.

It makes sense, and I agree.  ...hopefully I didn't duplicate with MY last question.  (I searched a little first.)

I figured it out, it is an unusual method but that is not surprising.

Unless you type in the exact search phrase it won't matter anyway.
