Update to Multisim fails to install with error.

The regular update fails to install with the error:  "An error has occurred installing an update.  If this error continues contact NI tech support." 

This is for Multisim.  

How can this be fixed?

Hi there,

It may be because NI Update Service has a issue with Windows Vista and Windows 7. A work around is detailed here. The gist of the work around is to run NI Update Service as administrator.
