Setting voltage amplitude in Function Generator

I've set the Function Generator to produce a 1 kHz sine wave with amplitude of 10 Vpp.  I presume the "Vpp" means peak-to-peak voltage, although I don't see it defined in the user manual.

When I check the ouput with the oscilloscope, I see a 20 V peak-to-peak sine wave, so it's behaving as if the setting is for peak voltage rather than peak-to-peak voltage.  Seems like the settings box should show V rather than Vpp.

Also, I've noted in the user manual section on the Function Generator that the "units" box does show "V".  Don't see a way to change the unit setting.

I'm very new to Multisim.  Would appreciate any comments or suggestions.
Kind regards,
Gary

connect the center post of the generator to the "-" terminal, that will solve the problem.

Kittmaster,

Thanks for your reply.  Unfortunately, that didn't solve the problem, as I was using the + and the center connectors on the FG.  If I use the + and the - terminals, the resulting sine wave peak-to-peak reading is 40 V with the function generator set at 10.  I'll keep playing with it, as I'm sure I've set something wrong.

The result is as expected IF the "units" on the FG are measured in Vpeak rather than Vpeak-to-peak.  Not sure why my FG has Vpp units, as the user's manual shows the units as V rather than the Vpp that shows up on mine.

Thanks!

Thanks

What version of Multisim do you have? I have checked both v10.0.1 and v10.1 and the function generator output voltage is labeled Vp (Voltage peak) on both. Which is what they measure on an o'scope.

I have 9.0.1...maybe it's time to upgrade!

Final follow-up.  NI support group responded that Multisim 9 incorrectly shows the units as Vpp.  This was corrected to Vp in Multisim 10.  Function generator still works fine, just need to know that the numerical setting is peak voltage amplitude and that the units are to be ignored.
