greetings,
i am trying to design a simple circuit to recharge a 12 V rechargeable battery.
The circuit works as follow(i have taken the assumption the Solar panel provides 24V minus the dropout voltage of a simple diode).
Firstly i regulate the current to have a constant value afterwards i regulate the voltage with the same IC to be 8 dc volts.
(i know isn't the best way to regulate the voltage via IC, but for the first phase of my project is fine, afterwards i will try to design a boost up converter). Lastly i am using the transistor as follows: if the voltage of the battery is above the Vz , then the total voltage will be grounded.
In the simulation, when i am running the circuit the battery goes instantly almost to 7.52 Volt, could someone please explain why the battery does not charge?(i must set initial conditions?)
Schematic:
thank you in advance

Hi!
Are you sure that you can charge a 12V battery with 7.5V?
I recommend you visit this links and verify your design.
