The spark gap I'm trying to place is simply a Champion spark plug with the electrode ground off that's used as the preionization process for our TEA laser.
If you are just trying to simulate the circuit, maybe using a zener diode place of the spark gap. Set the zener voltage to what you expect the spark voltage to be. It doesn't conduct until above the set voltage. Just a thought. Tweaking will probably be required.
