Bogus Connectivity "Error"

I've seen this error before but it is getting to be more prevalent.  The small 2 sided board I am working on has a ground plane on each side with a lot of vias connecting the planes on each side.  I am getting a "Trace/Via"  connectivity error for the ground net and there is no way these vias are unconnected to ground. If I delete the two vias shown as a problem the "error" goes to another pair of vias.

Has anyone seen this problem and what is the workaround or is there a bug entered into the NI system to correct this?

PS I can send the UB file and netlist to NI but would rather not post it here due to confidentiality concerns with my company.  Thanks

Hi ajt,

i have seen this problem in some of my boards. I don´t know if its a bug, but i solved it by connecting the vias with a trace ( inside of the copper plane )

g-p

I've been getting it too. I was going to ask if there was some reason for not linking ground planes through vias, but I guess I'll just ignore those errors as a bug from now on.

There was a connectivity problem in Ultiboard 10.0.1 I believe but it was later fixed. As far as I know, there is no connectivity problem in V11.  If you get an error report, there is usually a valid reason.  In the attached example, there are three nets two are connected using traces and the other (net2) was connected using the power plane.  When you run connectivity check, Ultiboard will report an error and it's valid.  If you look at U1 pin 1, you can see the SMT pin is connected to the power plane but the way I routed the other two traces, it creates a copper island so this pin is not connected to the other pin.

If you get a similar error DO NOT ignore this error.  If you have doubts, contact our support team.
