temparature mesurement with USB-6008

Hi,

Has anyone used 6008 analogue inputs for temparature measurement using PT100 sensors. I have used these sensors before with NI-4060 DMM and have no problem. 

Now I have created a task in the MAX using analogue input and selected RTD under temparature. All the options asking me for external excitation current and I didn't have the constant current source setup. Is there any other way to accurately measure temparature with PRT's without very much of external circuitry.

Hi mama007,

The NI 6008 is unable to supply an internal excitation current so you will have to create your own constant current source.  The NI 4060 could work fine without external circuitry because it supplied its own excitation current.  Here is a link to a similar post, which has some suggestions for creating a current source:
