switch from dc to analog generation with hardware trigger

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi there, I would like to do the following:

-Set a  terminal to a user defined dc voltage

-Switch to waveform based voltage generation when a hardware trigger is received

Is there a way to do this with a multifunctional DAQ board? I am under the impression that seitching from dc to waveform generation can only be done in software. This would lead to a certain dead time. How long will the dead time be? Will the DC voltage be stable during this dead time?

Hello Dixie,

See the attached screen shot, this could be an option. First you can make a DAQmx task which sends out a DC voltage, when you directly clear the task the dc output will remain on the level you selected before. Then you will create a DAQmx task to send out a waveform and waits on a trigger to do that. The output will be on the DC level until there's an trigger then the waveform will be outputted.
