register level programming

Recently, I was wandered about some problem.
I was used to register level programming with IO port address.
but, The PCI-6703 card does not support IO port address but window memory address.
Unfortunately, I don't know how to program the register level programming with window memory address.
What I want to know is whether I devote my time to study window address progamming or not.
Please answer my question.
