overshoot when measuring square wave on DAQ AI?

Hi,
When i was measuring the step response of our 6052e daq, i noticed the annoying overshoot problem, which appears as a transient effent at the raising and falling edge. The overshoot amplitude is roughly 1% of the step size, and the time constant is around 0.2ms, independent of the sampling rate.

It looks like an over compensate at high frequency end, or an IIR dsp chip built on the daq card. Is that true? How do i get rid of it, if we just want to measure a step response of a physical system whose time constant unforturnately is at ms scale?

Thanks for any help!

Yi

If you are using an oscilloscope, are your probes adjusted properly?

The signal looked good even at MHz frequencies on an oscilloscope.
Our function generator is a pretty good digital one.

never mind
it was because of our function generator...
daq is good.

sorry!
