operating systems supporting usb-6000

I just notice a new product called USB-6000. https://decibel.ni.com/content/groups/product-pulse/blog/2013/09/03/the-first-low-cost-multifunction...

However, I couldn't find information about the operating system it supports from its product webpage or its documentation.

Can someone give me any information?

Any system that supports DAQmx should support any DAQmx hardware.

If it runs with a 6008, the 6000 should work just fine.  I'd look for specs on DAQmx rather than a specific device.

Typically you go by what driver versions support it and then what OS versions support that driver.  The USB-6000 is only supported by DAQmx9.8, which is currently the latest version of the driver.  DAQmx 9.8 is supported in the following versions of Windows:

Windows 8 32-bit/64-bit

Windows 7 64-bit/32-bit/

Windows Vista 64-bit/Vista 32-bit

Windows XP 32-bit/Server 2008 R2 64-bit/Server 2003 R2 32-bit

SnowMule,

Your comment regarding the 6008 could be misleading. The 6008 and 6009 are also supported by DAQmx Base which runs on many platforms which do not support DAQmx.  So far there is no indication that the USB-6000 will run on those platforms and with that driver.

Thank you. I wish they could add the support for Mac and Linux soon.

I would expect it to be in the next version of DAQmx base (likely 3.8), which will likely be released in February 2014.

Sadly, still no Mac support in 4th quarter of 2015, NI-DAQmx 15.0.

Not sure what you mean. Not supported on OS X. I can run DAQmx, operate USB-6009 fine. Purchased USB-6000 not noticing that it didn't list OS X on the specifications tab. Doesn't work. Will have to return.

If you look at the readme, NI has not added support for any device since version 3.3.0 (LV 2009) when they added the USB-6212 and -6216 devices.

OK NI. It is time to do one of two things: Either add support for most of the modern DAQ devices to DAQmx Base or port DAQmx to Mac OS and Linux. Or both.

Crippling DAQ on these OSes does not so us or you any good.

Thanks, Lynn. I meant to say DaqMX Base in my previous posts, of course.

Do you know of any way to provide product/customer feedback to NI? I looked but can't find it. What's the best way to make noise to convince NI to support non-Windows OSes?
