"nidevmon.exe - Application Error.
The Application failed to initialize properly ( 0xc0000142). Click OK to terminate the application"
This message appears at each start of Windows, when I installed
NI-DAQmx 8.6, german edition
on my english W2k_server system, on which Labview 7.1 ( student edition ) is already installed ( just disk 1, so no device installation ),
and NI-DAQmx_base 3.0,
JUST IF I enable the installation option "Labview 7.1 Support" = "Unterstützung von Labview 7.1" ( german).
If I do NOT enable this option, I don´t get the error message at the start of Windows.
Is it important to enable this option for me ?!
In fact, my computer CRASHED with bluescreen when rebooting after the installation of NI-DAQmx 8.6 totally,
again and again,
and I was JUST able to recover it by using the Windows option "last working configuration".
After that Windows booted again ( ok now ), and I was NOT able to access the MAX database by the M&A Explorer.
After "reparing" the DAQmx installation by the "Control Panel / "Add /Remove Programs" / "National Instruments Software - Change/Remove",
I was able to conect to the database.
But lasting was this startup error, mentioned above.
Btw, NI-DAQmx 8.6 HAS the option "Labview 7.1 Support" = "Unterstützung von Labview 7.1", while NI-DAmx_base 3.0 does NOT offer this option.
Does this mean that NI-DAQmx_base 3.0 is not "intended" to be used with Labview 7.1 ?!
Is there any problem to have NI-DAQmx 8.6 and NI-DAQmx_base 3.0 together on one computer ?
Maybe I did install NI A&M Explorer "twice" on my system, so that one of them fails now ?
But I don´t see that I can correct that ? I can´t deinstall the NI A/M Explorer with the installation software ?!
I would like to "emulate" devices for development of my student project, so I installed "all that I can".
Btw, I would like to stay with Labview 7.1 on this computer, due to the need for activation of Labview 8.x ( which I hate ).
Sincerely
Rolf
