long delay starting daqmx

Hi,

I'm using a PCI-e 6259 card with two SCB-68 interface units.

I'm using the board via NI-DAQmx 8.5 and Visual Studio 2005 (dotNet 2.0 support has been installed).

My simple test program to exorcise the IO works, however it takes 1 minute for the form to be displayed. During this time the PC just sits there with low CPU usage and little or no disk activity. Once the form is loaded everything works as normal.

This also happens with any NI VS2005 example I choose to run.

It looks as if this time is spent just loading and initialising the dotNet components although I'm suspicious that it takes 1 minute exactly.

the machine I'm using is an Intel core duo cpu with 2GB ram.

Have you made any progress with this?

Is it just with the DAQmx examples you're seeing the delay or with all VS2005 examples? There aren't any documented performance issues with DAQmx 8.5 and VS2005. You may just need to reinstall the driver.

Hi,

No progress as yet as I've not had access to the equipment.

I think I'm going to try the reinstall option as a starting point (NI-DAQ was originally installed by our internal IT who are unfamiliar with National instruments software.

I'll post again if this works or not
