how to design a suitable vi to acquire ECG waveform?

Jim,

You can defenitely do some signal conditioning on you signal, either before the acquisition (using analog circuitry) or in software (using the LabVIEW Signal Processing Toolkit). Using a Low pass filter will get rid of any interference at higher frequencies (especially at 60Hz - power line frequency). The main factor that you want to look at is how your signal is being affected by noise. I would take a FFT of the signal see which signals are of interest to you and which one are not - then use a low pass/band stop filter accordingly.

Another way you improve the quality of your signal is by increasing the sampling frequency. This can greately improve the accuracy of your signal especially since it has high frequency components.

hihi ^^  i came across this wonder page and i was wondering, cos i am using USB DaQmx 6009 hardware to accquire signal produce by my board. is it possible tat u can change some thing to it so i can view n use it on my labview 7.1?

thks in advance ^^

i've the question about ECG36.vi .i see the equation of math in this project, can you tell how you get and make that?

how if i wont to use bandstop filter  before the thershold and how if i change the threshold with peak detector?

tanx before.

There is lots of information about ECG signal processing in the NI Life Sciences forum located here (http://forums.ni.com/ni/board?board.id=LifeScience)
