case structure closing

hey,

i need to request a discomfort value off participants in my experiment every minute. the experiment runs for 20 minutes and they just rate their discomfort value on a scale.

i used a timing vi. and a logic/or function with = funtions going in to a case structure. so when the time = 60,120 etc the case structure becomes true. inside the case structure there's a flat sequence structure.... that requests the user to input a value, waits and then writes the value to file! the only problem is that the case structure seems to close before the value gets written to file. is this normal and is there anything i can do about this situation??? i'd really appricate some help on this:)

thanks in advance

You will get more exposure with your question in the LabVIEW board.

Could you post your code, at least the part that you have a problem with?

hey there,

here is the bit of code that i'm having problmes with..... well just the case structure really! basically it doesn't stay open long enough for the value to write to file:( it opens at each minute interval!

Hi Finny,

I'm unsure why the Case Structure is closing before the measurement is written because the sequence structure will halt the program until the tasks inside are completed. I have run the VI on my system with no problems, although I did change the Wirite to Measurement file to append, and change the Wait until Millisecond Mulitple VI to a Wait Millisecond VI (see screenshot). Make these changes and see how you go.

Best wishes
