calculate code width

Solved!
Go to solution

Stupid question but I can't find it through various searches.

How do I calculate code width and relate that back to engineering units on my sensor.

If I have a 24 bit ADC with a 500mV range I get 2.98 E-5 mV steps.  How do I convert that to engineering units.

Solved stupid question.

got gain factor for sensor i.e. (in units of V/engineering unit)

Then just multiplied that by my calculated voltage code input.

to get Engineering unit/DAQ bit

EU=(DAQVoltage range )/(bits)*(Sensor Gain)
